Travel with your dog or cat to Singapore

Traveling with pets ( Dog and Cat)  from India to Singapore involves several steps. We suggest pet parents take experienced Pet travel agents help and start the procedure in advance to meet the travel timelines. 

Singapore’s Pet Import Requirements are as follows

Step 1

Microchipping

Pet has to be microchipped with an ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15-digit pet microchip.The microchip must be implanted before any other procedures, such as vaccinations, are carried out.

Step 2

Vaccinations

Your pet must be up to date on vaccinations, including rabies , DHPPi and Lepto. The initial rabies vaccination must occur after microchipping and at least 30 days before departure but within the validity period of one year from the date given.

Step 3

Rabies serology titer test

For dogs and cats , Rabies serology titer test from an approved laboratory is mandatory to enter Singapore from High Rabies countries like India . The test should be conducted not less than 30 days after the rabies vaccination and within 180 days before entering Singapore. . You can read about the detailed and updated rules and regulations

Step 4

Booking Quarantine Space in Singapore

Pets ( Dogs and Cats) traveling to Singapore from high rabies countries are required to undergo 30 days of quarantine upon arrival in Singapore. It’s important  to book a quarantine space at the Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station (SAQS) as soon as you have your travel dates since spaces can fill up quickly.

Step 5

Dog License

Dog license is required for dogs and cats entering Singapore, including those coming from India. This requirement is part of the process to ensure that all pets entering the Singapore are registered.

Step 6

Import Permit 

Before your pet can enter Singapore, you must obtain an import license from the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) within the National Parks Board of Singapore. The permit is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. AVS Pet Import License Application

Step 7

IATA approved Crate / Travel Carrier

Step 8

Flight Booking or Cargo Booking

Pet (Dog or Cat) can enter Singapore as accompanied baggage ( Pet in Cabin or Pet in Hold AVIH) or as Manifest cargo. Team Petspot will help you in bookings.

Health Certificates 

Within seven days of departure, a licensed veterinarian must examine your pet and issue a health certificate stating that your pet is fit to travel and free from infectious diseases.

Step 10

Export Permit:

Animal Quarantine Certification For pets ( Dog and Cat) traveling to Singapore is mandatory and can be obtained from India’s Animal Quarantine Office, AQCS. This certification should be obtained no more than 7 Days prior to the travel date . Know more about it here.
